Indian women shooters have performed remarkably well in recent years and have outshone their male counterparts on many occasions. The talent pool among women shooters in India is so vast that many previous winners are unable to make it to the team the next time. Every year, young girls aim for the top spot, and there are also experienced veterans who approach every game with a mature and concise strategy. In the past decade, several of the country’s shooters have excelled at the highest level, winning titles at the ISSF World, Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and other championships.

Manu Bhaker

Manu Bhaker

Manu Bhaker is an Indian Olympian who plays airgun shooting. She represented India at the 2018 ISSF World Cup and became youngest Indian to win two gold medals. She won the gold medal in the women’s 10 m air pistol event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games just at the age of 16. She won the team gold for India in the women’s 25m pistol team event at the Asian Games, along with Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan.

Esha Singh

Esha Singh

Esha Singh is a highly accomplished Indian shooter who has won numerous medals in various events. She became the national champion in the 10m Air Pistol category in 2018 and went on to win a silver medal at the Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany in 2019. Additionally, she has won two gold medals at the Asian Junior Championships. Esha Singh is not limited to 10m Air Pistol as she also competes in 25m Standard Pistol and 25m Pistol events.

At the 2022 Asian Games, Esha Singh won the team gold for India in the women’s 25m pistol team event, alongside Manu Bhaker and Rhythm Sangwan. She also went on to win Silver in the 10m and 25-meter pistol event, as well as in the 10m air pistol team event at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

Sift kaur Samra

Sift Kaur Samra

Sift Kaur Samra, a talented shooter, recently won a gold medal in the women’s 50-metre rifle 3-position event at the World University Games held in Chengdu, China. She has also set a world record in the Women’s 50-metre rifle three-position final while winning the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games. Additionally, she was a part of the team that secured a silver medal in the Women’s 50-metre rifle three-positions team event at the same event.

Palak Gulia

Palak Gulia is a skilled shooter who represents India in the Women’s 10m air pistol event. In 2022, she won a gold medal in the ISSF Junior World Cup. Currently, she is a member of the Indian shooting team at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Palak won the Asian Games gold in the 10m air pistol event and set a new Asian Games record. She also secured a silver medal in the team event. Additionally, India won both gold and silver in the women’s 10m air pistol event, with Esha Singh finishing second.

Ashi Chouksey

Ashi Chouksey

Ashi Chouksey, a 21-year-old shooter, clinched the gold medal in the 50m rifle 3 positions mixed event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup held in Baku, Azerbaijan in June 2022. She won this medal along with her teammate Swapnil Kusale. Ashi had earlier bagged a bronze medal at the ISSF Junior Shooting World Cup held in Germany. She also won a silver medal in the women’s 10-metre air rifle team event at the 2022 Asian Games and a bronze medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3-position event.

Ramita Jindal

Ramita Jindal

Ramita Jindal an ace shooter from Krusketra, Haryana represents India in the Women’s 10m air rifle. She was crowned world champion in the 10-meter Air Rifle Women Junior event at the International Shooting Sport Federation, ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo, Egypt. She won a silver medal in the Women’s 10-metre air rifle team and a bronze medal in the 10 m air rifle in the 2022 Asian Games.

Elavenil Valarivan

Elavenil Valarivan is a 10m air rifle shooter. Her latest achievement is the gold medal in the women’s 10m air rifle event at the ISSF World Cup 2023 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her earlier achievements are gold at the 2018 ISSF Junior World Cup; silver in the World University Games in 2019; Gold at the World Junior World Cup Suhl 2019 and Gold at the 2019 ISSF 10-meter Air Rifle World Cup, Rio de Janeiro. 

Mehuli ghosh

Mehuli Ghosh

Mehuli Ghosh is a representative of India in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle event and has achieved significant success in the sport. At the XXI Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia, in 2018, she won a silver medal in Women’s 10m Air Rifle after competing in a shoot-off with Martina Veloso. She has also won a Silver medal in the 10m air rifle team event during the 2022 Asian Games.

Divya TS

Divya TS is a talented shooter from Karnataka who represents India in Pistol Events. She recently achieved her first women’s 10m air pistol national title at the 65th National Shooting Championship Competitions held in Bhopal. Additionally, she won a silver medal in the Women’s 10m air pistol team event at the 2022 Asian Games.

Rhythm Sangwan

Rhythm Sangwan

Rhythm Sangwan is an Indian pistol shooter. She represents India in 10 m Air Pistol and 25 m Pistol. She won the gold medal in the 2023 ISSF World Cup 10m Air Pistol (Mixed Team),  2022 ISSF World Cup 25m Pistol  (Women’s Team), and 2022 ISSF World Cup 25m Rapid Fire Pistol (Mixed Team). At the 2022 Asian Games, Rhythm Sangwan won the team gold for India in the women’s 25m pistol team event, alongside Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh.

Apurvi Chandela

Apurvi Singh Chandela

Apurvi Singh Chandela is a former world champion and represents India in 10-meter air rifle shooting.  In 2014, she clinched four medals at the Intershoot Championships held at The Hague, followed by a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and a bronze medal at the ISSF World Cup in Changwon in the same year. She also secured a bronze medal in the team event at the 2018 Asian Games and another bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. In 2019, she won a gold medal at the ISSF World Cup and another gold medal in the women’s 10m air rifle event at the ISSF World Cup.

Yashaswini

Yashaswini Singh Deswal

Yashaswini Singh Deswal is a sport shooter and represents India in 10-meter air pistol events. In 2021, she is ranked world No. 1 in the 10-meter air pistol. She won Silver in the 2016 ISSF Junior World Cup; gold in the team event at Qabala, Azerbaijan; Gold & Bronze in the 2016 South Asian Games; Gold at the 2017 ISSF Junior World Championship. In 2019, Yashawani won the gold medal at the 2019 ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.

Anjum

Anjum Moudgil

Anjum Moudgil  repersented India in 10m Air Rifle and Women’s 50m 3P. She won a silver medal in World University Championship; gold in the South Asian Games; a silver medal in the women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions (3P) at ISSF World Cup in Mexico (2018); Silver Medal in Commonwealth Games (2018).

Chinki Yadav

Chinki Yadav competes in the 25-meter pistol event. She won the bronze medal in the junior women’s 25-meter pistol Asian Shooting Championships (2015), Bronze in the 2016 ISSF Junior World Cup and bronze at the 2017 ISSF Junior World Championships.

Rahi Sarnobat

Rahi Sarnobat is a 25 meters pistol shooter and represented India in Asiad and the Olympics. She won her first gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games; two gold medals at 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi; a gold medal in shooting at 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games and a gold medal at the Munich World Cup event in 2019.

Nischal

Nischal is an ace rifle shooter and she represents India in the Women’s rifle event. She won a silver medal in the Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions (3P) at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2023 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Manisha Keer

Manisha Keer is a skilled shooter from India who competes in the Women’s Trap Event. She won a silver medal in team trap shooting at the ISSF World Cup in Cairo. Additionally, she, along with Preeti Rajak and Rajeshwari Kumari, won the Silver medal in the Women’s Trap Team Event at the 2022 Asian Games.

Preeti Rajak

Preeti Rajak hails from Itarsi, Madhya Pradesh and she is a talented shooter who represents India in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol event. In 2022, she won a silver medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. Additionally, she won a silver medal in the Women’s Trap Team event at the 2022 Asian Games, along with Manisha Keer and Rajeshwari Kumari.

Rajeshwari Kumari

Rajeshwari Ria Kumari is an Indian sport from Patiala and she represents India in Trap Shooting Event. She has won medals in both domestic and international competitions. She is the great-granddaughter of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. Additionally, she won a silver medal in the Women’s Trap Team event at the 2022 Asian Games, along with Manisha Keer and Preeti Rajak.

Ganemat Sekhon

Ganemat Sekhon is an Indian sport shooter who specializes in skeet. At the 2021 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi, Sekhon became the first Indian to win a medal in the Women’s skeet event of an ISSF World Cup

Parinaaz Dhaliwal

Parinaaz Dhaliwal is an ace shooter who represents India in the Women’s skeet individual and Team Events.

Darsha Rathore

Darsha Rathore is an ace shooter who represents India in the Women’s Skeet individual Events.

Tejaswani

Tejaswini Sawant

Tejaswini Sawant Gold medalist in the Commonwealth Games and won gold medals in Women’s 10 m Air Rifle singles and Women’s 10 m Air Rifle Pairs at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games (2006); won a bronze medal in 50-meter rifle in 2009 ISSF World Cup (Munich); Gold medal in 2010 World Champion in the 50m Rifle Prone; Won 2 Silver & 1 Bronze in 2010 Commonwealth Games; Gold at the Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Position & Silver in 5om Rifle prone in 2018 Commonwealth Games.
