Religion in Gujarat 

Gujarat is the ninth most populous state in India and has a diverse population with people from many religions and communities. According to the 2011 census, out of a population of 6.04 crore, around 5.35 crore (88.57%) identified themselves as Hindu, 58.46 lakhs (9.67%) as Muslims or followers of Islam, 5.8 lakhs (0.96%) as Jain, and 3.16 lakhs (0.52%) as Christians. Additionally, 0.10% stated as having no religion, and 0.18% were affiliated with other religions.
