Religion in Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is India’s 20th most populous state and has a predominately Hindu population. At the 2011 census, out of 68.64 Lakhs population, around 65 Lakhs (95%) have returned themselves as followers of the Hindu religion, 1.50 Lakhs (2.18%) as Muslims or followers of Islam, 80 thousand (1.16%) as Sikh and  79 thousand (1.15%) as Buddhists. In addition, 0.12% stated No religion and 0.22% are other religions.
