Religion in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir is the second most populous Union Territory of India and has a diverse population of many religions & communities. At the census 2011, out of the 1.25 Crore* population, around 85 Lakhs  (68.31%) have returned themselves as followers of Islam religion, 36 Lakhs (28.44%) as followers of Hinduism, 2.34 Lakhs (1.87%) as Sikh and 1.12 lakhs (0.90%) as Buddhist. In addition, 0.16% Stated as no religion & 0.01% are other religions.
