Jyothi Yarraji, 100 meters hurdles
Jyothi Yarraji is a track and field athlete who specializes in the 100-metre hurdles. She currently holds the Indian national record for the 100 m hurdles, with a time of 13.23 seconds. Jyothi represented India at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the 100-meter hurdles and was also part of the Indian Women’s 4 x 100-meter relay team, which finished 5th in the finals. In the 2022 Asiad Games, she won a Silver medal in the 110 m hurdles events.
Harmilan Bains, 800m and 1500 meter
Harmilan Bains holds India’s national record in the women’s 1500m. She won the women’s 1500m race, clocking a national record-setting time of 4:05.39, and broke Sunita Rani’s previous mark of 4:06.03 in the 2021 National Open Championships in Warangal. She has won in 800 meter and 1500m events at the 2022 Asiad Games.
Parul Chaudhary, 5000 meter
Parul Chaudhary is a track and field athlete who specializes in the 5000-meter and 3000-meter Steeplechase. In 2022 Asiad she won Gold in 5000 m and Silver Parul in the 3000 m steeplechase event. She won a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships women’s 3000 meters steeplechase and silver in the 5000 meters.
Annu Rani, Javelin Throw
Annu Rani is the current Nationa record holder in Javelin thrower. She became the first Indian woman to win gold in javelin throw at the 2022 Asiad Games. She was the 1st Indian to reach the finals of the women’s javelin throw event in the World Athletics Championships, Doha, 2019. Her career best effort is 63.24m which helped her win the gold in the National Interstate Athletic Championship, Patiala, 2021. In the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Annu Rani scripted history as she became the first Indian female javelin thrower to win a medal, a bronze.
Seema Punia, Discus Throw
Seema Punia has won multiple medals in Women’s discus throw. She secured a bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and finished 13th at the 2012 London Olympics. In 2014, she won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the Asian Games. She continued her success in 2018 by winning a Silver medal in the Asian Games. She also won bronze in 2022 Asian Games.
Aishwarya Mishra, 400 meters
Aishwarya Mishra is a track and field athlete who specializes in the 400-meter hurdles. Her best time in the 400 meters is 51.18 seconds. She represented India in the 400m and 400m relay events at the 2023 Asiad Games and was part of 4 x 400 m relay team which won Silver medal.
Himanshi Malik, 400 meters
Himanshi Malik is a track and field athlete who specializes in the 400-meter hurdles. Her best time in the 400 meters is 51.76 seconds. She will represent India in the 400m event at the 2023 Asiad Games.
K. M. Chanda, 800 meter
Kumari Chanda is a track and field athlete who specializes in the 400-meter and 800-meter. She won a silver medal at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships women’s 800 meters. Her best time in the 400 meters is 2.01.58 seconds. She will represent India in the 800m event at the 2022 Asiad Games.
Priyanka Goswami, 20km walk
Priyanka Goswami is the current National record holder in Women’s 20km race walking. In the race walk nationals in Ranchi, she bagged the gold, clocking a national record-shattering time of 1:28:45s. She will represent India in 2022 Asian Games in China.
Manpreet Kaur, Shot Put
Manpreet Kaur is an Indian professional Olympic shot putter. She jointly holds the Indian national record of 18.06m in Women’s Shot Put with Abha Khatua. She will represent India in the 2022 Asian Games in China.
Dutee Chand, 100 metres
Dutee Chand is a current national champion in the women’s 100-meter event. She is the first Indian to win a gold medal in a 100m race in a global competition and the third Indian woman to ever qualify for the Women’s 100 meters event at the Summer Olympic Games. In 2018, Chand clinched silver in women’s 100m at the Jakarta Asian Games. In 2019, she became the first Indian sprinter to win gold at the Universiade, clocking 11.32 seconds in the 100m race.
Hima Das, 400 metres
Hima Das nicknamed Dhing Express holds the current Indian national record in 400 meters with a timing of 50.79s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in a track event at the IAAF World U20 Championships. On 30 August 2018, she, along with M. R. Poovamma, Sarita Gayakwad, and V. K. Vismaya won the women’s 4 × 400 meters relay clocking 3:28.72. Hima also won a silver medal in the 4 × 400 m mixed relay. In 2019 she won 200m gold in Poznan Grand Prix in Poland (23.65 seconds), 200m gold at the Kladno Meet in the Czech Republic & and 400 m gold in Nové Město, Czech Republic.
Kamalpreet Kaur, Discus Thrower
Kamalpreet Kaur is a National record holder in the Women’s discus throw. She became the U-18 and U-20 national champions in 2016. Later, in 2017, she finished sixth at the 29th World University Games. At the Asian Athletics Championships in Doha in 2019, she finished fifth.
Bhawana Jat, 20Km Walk
Bhawna Jat is an Indian racewalker who was the former Indian national record holder for women’s 20-kilometer race walk at 1 hour 29 minutes 54 seconds set in February 2020. At the National Open Championships in February 2020, Jat broke the national record by clocking 1:29:54
